Join us at Weibel in an exciting role as System Engineer and be a part of developing our advanced radar systems.
At Weibel you will join a truly technology driven company that delivers excellent Doppler Radars across most the world. We have a full-scale production facility in-house – and this is our key strength which allows us to maintain agility in exploring new solutions without compromising quality in production.
We are now looking for a new colleague for our Systems Engineering team who wants to be a part of developing our advanced instrumentation radar systems.
About the position
As a System Engineer in Weibel you will work with requirements and configuration of the overall system. This requires close collaboration with our different engineering departments to ensure that the various sub-systems work together in a manner that fulfills the overall system requirements.
Working at Weibel will provide you with hands-on experience with our radars. You get an understanding of the physics limiting radar performance and potential solutions. You are a part of the project from the final stages of the sales process until the factory acceptance test with the costumer, where the performance of the finished system is tested based on the predefined requirements.
The position will include tasks such as:
- Drive product definitions and requirements in collaboration with project managers and sub-system engineers.
- Take the technical leadership in a project by bringing people from different departments together, leading internal review meetings etc.
- Participate in internal project meetings and technical meetings with the customer as responsible for system design.
- Assist the project manager to prepare material for design reviews with the customer and to find answers to technical questions.
- Provide technical support to our sales team during project bid-phases.
We do not expect you to have experience with radar systems beforehand, but it is an advantage. You will work in close collaboration with our experienced System Engineers, who have a deep understanding of our systems and you can look forward to a steep learning curve.
You can expect 10-20 travelling days per year.
About our new colleague
You have a university degree preferably within a relevant engineering discipline and you are fluent in English – both spoken and written. Ideally you have a few years of experience from a similar organization where you have worked with design, verification and test of complex systems. You have a strong technical foundation and preferably some knowledge of system engineering.
You will play an important role in ensuring that the development of the different sub-systems follow the overall requirements for the system. Therefore, if you are to be successful it is important that you work in a systematic manner and have the ability to keep the overall requirements in mind.
The position requires you to work with many difference stakeholders, so it is key that you have good communication skills and the ability to present your results in an effective and structured manner. You take ownership of your own tasks and have the ability to deliver according to deadlines and the agreed upon quality.
Your new team
You will be joining our team of 13 competent and enthusiastic colleagues in the System Engineering team. The level of experience in the team spans from newly graduated to more than 30 years of experience. Our team members have very different educational backgrounds that varies from electrical, aerospace and mechanical engineering to physics and computer science. We have created it in this way, because we believe that bringing people with different competences together will generate the best solutions.
