We are seeking an experienced chef to lead our kitchen team at a busy Chinese buffet restaurant. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing a menu that features a variety of Chinese cuisine, including traditional and modern dishes. The chef will also be responsible for ensuring that our buffet is always stocked with fresh, high-quality food that meets the needs and preferences of our customers.
Responsibilities:
Plan and create a menu that features a variety of Chinese dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and freshness.
Manage kitchen staff, including cooks and food prep workers, to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Monitor food inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the kitchen.
Develop and maintain relationships with food vendors and suppliers to ensure that the restaurant has access to the highest quality ingredients.
Stay up-to-date on food trends and incorporate new ideas into the menu as appropriate.
Ensure that all food meets health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience as a chef in a Chinese restaurant.
Knowledge of a wide variety of Chinese cooking techniques and dishes.
Ability to lead a team and manage kitchen operations effectively.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Degree or certification in culinary arts is preferred but not required.
